Fall armyworm resurfaces in Eastern Region

Fall armyworms which destroyed large hectares of maize farms in the country last year are suspected to have resurfaced at Mpraeso in the Eastern region. 

The worms have already destroyed an acre of maize farm belonging one Gershon. 

Last year, the armyworms plagued a lot of farms in the country, destroying an estimated four thousand hectares of crop farms although government says it has defeated the army worms’ infestation.

As the rainy season approaches, the affected farmer Gershon is pleading for swift intervention from government before the worms spread.
