Gloria Akuffo receives Honorary Award over maritime dispute victory The past and current Ministers of Justice and Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong and Gloria Akuffo, have both been given Honorary Awards for their astute roles that led Ghana to win the maritime dispute over Cote d’Ivoire. The Ghana Energy Awards was organised by the Energy Media Group. A statement by the Energy Media Group and copied to the GNA said the award package comprise a plaque, citation and a certificate of recognition. Presenting the award, the Chairman of the Awards Panel and former Chairman of the Energy Commission, Dr. Kwame Ampofo, described the ruling as phenomenal and commended the AG’s collaboration with her predecessor, Mrs Appiah-Oppong, adding that the synergy between the two was a demonstration of comradeship. Madam Akuffo, noted that though considered a litigation between Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, she views the arbitration as reinforcing the peaceful relationship that has existed between the two countries.
