As part fo efforts to deliver reliable energy to underserved communities in the country, the US African Development Foundation USADF Power Initiative and its Ghanaian Partner Mensah JB and Associates have granted up to 700, 000 US Dollars to seven Ghanaian Companies in the Solar Energy Sector following their success in the USADF Off-Grid Energy Challenge. To further enhance the companies capability to address the challenges of providing sustainable solar energy projects in the off-grid communities across the country, a workshop has been organised for the grantees in Accra. Speaking to Business News on the sidelines of the event a Deputy Director Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy, Ing. Seth Mahu said government is committed to supporting the effort to extend power across the country under the National Renewable Energy Master Plan. The Project Officer for USADF Power Africa Staniel Abotsi said the idea is to improve living standards as well as sustain businesses in these underserved communities.
