Drip irrigation technology introduced

Farmers in the country are unable to take full advantage of the ready market for sorghum. Currently, the annual cultivation of sorghum in the country is six thousand metric tons, falling short of a 15 thousand metric tons demand.

Having identified erratic rainfall as the major contributory factor to the supply deficit, Agri-access, the single largest supplier of sorghum in the country has introduced the use of boreholes and micro-drip irrigation systems to promote all-year-round cultivation of sorghum.

Agri-access led some farmers and other key stakeholders to a demonstration farm at Kunfabiala near Wa.
