THE Ghanaian Times commends stakeholders in the agricultural sector for the extraordinary increase in yields of targeted crops including maize, rice and soya bean during the first year of implementing the planting for food and jobs programme. Again the paper urges policymakers to sustain the effort as the programme gears into its second year of implementation. It appeals to government to provide the logistics for the program early to assist the farmers to take advantage of the rainfall pattern.   


THE Daily Graphic believes that Easter is a period for Christians to renew their faith, change their life style and lead the way in a realistic manner to overturn the dwindling fortunes of the country. The paper notes that the country is suffering from acts of indiscipline and there is the need for Christians to reflect on the significance of Easter to change the attitude of Ghanaians. 


THE Independent newspaper says the Centre for Plant Medicine Research (CPMR) needs to be adequately resourced to meet the growing needs of herbal medicine across the globe. It says Herbal Medicines have been used since the early days of mankind and are still used throughout the world. To make herbal medicines more effective the paper believes that when the CPMR is given the attention it deserves, herbal medicines will meet the standards of global harmonization needed for the responsible production and marketing of herbs which the country will benefit hugely.
