Ghana-US military deal not given needed attention

The Assistant Eastern Regional Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT, Peter Boateng, has expressed discontent about how a sensitive national security issue has been treated like any other social issue. 

Speaking on Radio Ghana's Current Affairs Program, “Events in Focus”, Mr.  Boateng admitted that the country’s security could be threatened due to some public statements the Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, made which the public should not have been privy to. 

Mr. Boateng mentioned economy, politics, military and culture as some of the things that strengthen ties between countries in the world, and Ghana is no exception. 

Contributing to the program, a tutor at the S.D.A College of Education, Wisdom Blackson Agbanyo, said Ghana and Africa as a whole are poor negotiators.

He advised government to employ the knowledge of experts in sensitive matters such as this one but not take hasty decisions.
