Recent power outages in Denkyirabour worrying - Assemblyman laments The Assemblyman of Akwatia in the Denkyembour District in the Eastern Region, John Quansah, has described recent power outages in the area as worrying. Speaking to GBC's Radio Ghana, he said the community has been living in darkness for the past 116 days. Mr. Quansah noted that efforts to get the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), to restore power, has proved futile. He said the Assembly is giving the ECG a week to resolve the challenge. The Akwatia township has been without electricity since November 2017 when power supply was cut to the mining company, Ghana Consolidated Diamond Limited which supplied residents with electricity.
