John Quansah, Assemblyman of Akwatia in the Denkyirabour District has described recent power outages in the area as worrying.

The Assemblyman of Akwatia in the Denkyirabour District in the Eastern Region, John Quansah, has described recent power outages in the area as worrying. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, he said the community has been living in darkness for the past one hundred and 16 days. 

Mr. Quansah noted that efforts to get the ECG to restore power, has proved futile. He said the Assembly is giving the ECG a week to resolve the challenge. 

The Akwatia township has been without electricity since November last year when power supply was cut to the mining company, Ghana Consolidated Diamond Limited which supplied residents with electricity.
