BoG must strictly act as a regulator to all banks - Dr Assibey

A Senior Lecturer at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana, Dr. Eric Osei Assibey, says Bank of Ghana must strictly act as a regulator to all banks to ensure they keep a good balance sheet. 

He was contributing to discussions on the crisis in the Banking Sector on GBCs Current Affairs Program 'Talking Point'. Dr Assibey, said it will not be out of place if the Central Bank changes managers of a bank that is not doing well. 

A Financial Analyst, Andrews Takyi-Appiah, tasked the Central Bank to inject mechanisms that ensure proper monitoring and thorough supervision of activities of smaller Banks.
