NUGS to go on nationwide demonstration against Parliament's ratification of US Military Cooperation 


The National Union of Ghana Students, NUGS says it will go on a nationwide demonstration on Wednesday to register its protest against Parliament's ratification of the Military Cooperation Agreement with the US.  

NUGS is therefore calling on the President and Cabinet, to as a matter of urgency withdraw from the agreement for re-assessment and re-negotiation.  

Speaking to Felix Cofie, Press and Information Secretary of NUGS, Eric Nana Agyemang described the agreement as an insult on the sovereignty and independence of Ghana.  

He said the deafening silence of the National Peace Council, the Christian Council and some other prominent Civil Society groups on the issue, is surprising.
