The Daily Graphic lauds government and the country's city authorities for taking keen interest in the development of markets in the country. The paper says the numerous fire outbreaks have caused the country to lose millions of cedis and property. The Graphic is however worried over the increasing spate of street hawking in the cities and the frequent knockdowns of hawkers who will not to use the markets for their businesses in recent times. The paper therefore urges city authorities to ensure that traders and hawkers sell their wares at the markets. It believes this is the only way the country can make huge investments such as the hundred million dollars that has been committed to Kumasi Central market project.

The Ghanaian Times dedicates its editorial piece to the late dancehall artist Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng who will be buried today. The paper says the deepest condolences Ghanaians showed her family clearly depicts that the country abounds with talents in the youth, hence the need to properly guide and nurture such talents to make Ghana great. The Times expresses its deepest condolence to  the family of the late Ebony who have  endured the pain of losing such a promising young talent.
