GTA upgrading its facilities at Kwahu ahead of Easter Paragliding festival

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in conjunction with the Kwahu South District Assembly are making feverish preparations for this year's Easter and Paragliding festival which takes place on Friday the 30th of March

A 500-metre road leading to the site, has been tarred while the places where canopies were usually erected for local and foreign tourists at the Odweanoma Mountains at Atibie, have been changed to pavilions.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana in the Eastern Region, the Kwahu South District Chief Executive (DCE), Emmanuel Atta Ofori said the pavilions can accommodate 400 people at a time. A six-seater biofill digester, being a modern place of convenience, has been constructed. 

The District Tourism Officer, Evans Antwi- Boasiako said the take-off point for the paragliding has now been expanded to take three pilots to fly people at a go. 

As at 11 am yesterday (March 23), contractors who executed the project, were seen on the site putting finishing touches to the paragliding area to make it wholly complete and then hand over to the Ghana Tourist Authority today (March 24).
