All set for Asante Akyem Marathon on April 2

Last year (2017), the people of Asante Akyem and it environs had a big bang with Asante Akyem Marathon and this year’s edition being the second won’t be short of excitement. If anything, it will rather get better.

The race will start from Oyoko near Kumawu at 6am and end at the Agogo Lorry Park.

Powered by Sport Life, there Is a lot to cheer with a lot of add-ons. For instance the race distance has been increased from 23km to full marathon standard 42.2km.

Former MP Asante Akyem and CEO of Sport Life, Kwadow Baah Agyeman, said on GTV Sports morning show Studio 5 that the winner of this year’s edition will be adopted by Ghana Athletics Association to represent Ghana at international competitions.

The first ten winners of the various categories will be awarded with prizes. Participants from that community who emerge first in any categories and position will participate in the West African marathon in Lagos.
