unscrupulous people are taking advantage of the peace and stability of the country – Andrew Atariwini The Head of Operations at MacAndy Executives Academy, Andrew Atariwini, has expressed worry about the recent insecurity that has engulfed the country. He said some unscrupulous people are taking advantage of the peace and stability of the country and robbing people causing harm to the good people of the country. According to him, the move by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the amalgamation of both police and the military patrols around is the surest way to reduce crime in the country. He said the President’s call for the beefing-up of security at all the flash points ought to be commended. Mr. Atariwini who is a native of Bawku said the move is timely and is the right step in the right direction. He said crime has no political colorization and the good citizens of this country must never at anytime want to paint one political party with that color. He underscored the need for the people in the country to be active in exposing criminals in our communities. Speaking to Radio Ghana’s Samuel Ayammah in Bolgatanga, Mr. Atariwini said until they begin to expose criminals in their areas they will continually have these challenges. He expressed the need for Ghanaians to work in unism with the security agencies to sustain the peace and tranquility of the country. There appears to be a heightened wave of robbery attacks in the country with the past weeks recording some of the worst cases. A number of incidents have involved brazen attacks by robbers on individuals and organizations in broad daylight. He said the Upper East Region has fewer resources as compare to other regions and so the people in the region should endeavor to safeguard the peace they are currently enjoying and should not allow some unscrupulous people to terrorize them. Meanwhile, Mr. Atariwini who is vying for the Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP, said he is a development centered person and youth activist and have desired to impact in society base on the experience he had in leadership training and the zeal that he carry in terms of leading people, hence the need for him to be given the nod to lead the youth. He observed that the NPP is not performing in the Upper East Region because the party lacks a charismatic and an enthusiastic leadership with the purpose or the vision that is able to help this young people transform their life through whether government policies or modeling some life changing policies that is able to impact their lives. He said when he is voted into power he will work hard and put innovative measures in place to attract NGOs and other foreign donors to come to the aid of the young men and women in the region. He said his outfit will help the youth set goals and make sure those goals are achieved. Mr. Atariwini said his office will support the youth who want to venture into entrepreneurship, commerce, agri-business among others. He said until the young people in this country become self reliant the party vigilantism cannot be addressed. Mr. Atariwini said the party is losing most of the parliamentary seats in the Upper East Region because the party did not have the critical masses in terms of youth to able to prosecute their campaign. He said the youth did not have confidence in the leadership in both the constituency and the regional level and that is why he coming to change that narrative. He said he is bringing his energy, expertise and creativity to the youth front of the party. Mr. Atariwini noted that the NPP laid-out a very solid campaign promise and Ghanaians trusted them and gave them the power so they should not allow internal bickering and wrangling to distract their focus for Ghanaians to be disappointed. He said the party should continue to maintain the zeal, work together, have internal disciplinary mechanism that is able to straighten people that are not going in tandem with their laws and principles and also continue to rally strongly behind Akufo-Addo’s led administration.
