Africa has a great opportunity to leapfrog to the use of electric vehicles 

The Head of the Transport Unit, of the UN Environment Project, Rob de Jong, says Africa has a great opportunity to leapfrog to the use of electric vehicles provided there is the political will. 

He said the continent abounds in renewable energy to power electric vehicles, therefore lack of energy should not be an excuse to get stuck with fossil fuel.  

Rob de Jong, spoke to journalists at the just ended Africa Sustainable Transport Week in Kenya.
