Financial Consultant predicts Liquidation of more Banks before end of year

Dr. Francis Atsu, has predicted that more banks will face liquidation before the end of the year. Dr. Atsu said the insolvency of Unibank declared by the Bank of Ghana is not surprising at all. 

He said what is happening in the banking sector now is a blessing in disguise to strengthen the sector.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Dr. Atsu said with the minimum capital requirement by the Bank of Ghana, smaller banks must pool their resources together to stay afloat in the industry.

Dr. Atsu said a lot of corporate governance issues, mismanagement and poor record keeping are what is killing the industry.
