IRC signs 5-yrs MoU with Ghana to ensure access to safe drinking water The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources and IRC Ghana an NGO have signed a five year Memorandum of Understanding, MOU to ensure universal access to safe and affordable water across the country by 2030. Speaking at the Signing ceremony in Accra, CEO of IRC Ghana, Patrick Moriarty called for a strong political commitment to issues of water, sanitation and hygiene. He said with support from relevant stakeholders, the initiative will spread to other parts of the country and this will afford Ghana the opportunity to attain the sustainable development goals, which ensures access to safe and affordable water for all. The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Joseph Kofi Adda said the MOU will go a long way to build capacity of the Ministry, as well as strengthen the water, sanitation and hygiene systems at the local levels.
