One Dead, 48 Arrested Over Renewed Clashes In Ahwiaa, 

One person has been confirmed dead with scores of others injured in a renewed violence at Ahwiaa near Kumasi. 

The Ashanti Regional Police PRO, ASP Juliana Obeng, who confirmed this to GBC's Radio Ghana, noted however, that the actual reasons for the insecurity in the town have not yet been established. 

She said the Police are on the ground to ensure that the situation remains firmly under control.  

The latest incident at Ahwiaa in the Kwabre East District follows a similar incident last month which was occasioned by a misunderstanding between the local Zongo youth and the local people which started during a brass band music at the funeral of a lady.

It is not yet established whether or not anyone has been arrested in connection with the latest clashes.
