DCE calls for extension of repair works on Kulungugu Bridge

The DCE for Pusiga, Abdullai Zuberu says he is in talks with officials of the Ghana Highway Authority to extend the official closure of the Kulungugu Bridge on the Missiga-Kulungugu highway from March 19 to Friday March 23 following complaints by motorists plying the said road.

The bridge which is scheduled to be closed for 30 days has developed major defects that require major repairs to avert a possible collapse.

To this effect, the Ghana Highway Authority recently announced its closure to enable the Bridge Maintenance Unit of the Authority to carry out major repair works on it.

Drivers and other road users have however raised concerns about the sudden closure, which they noted would affect their daily activities considering the short notice.
