Ghana Records First Case Of Extensive Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis

Ghana has recorded its first case of Extensive Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis, (XDR-TB).

According to the Programmes Manager of the National TB Control Programme, Dr. Frank Bonsu, this is not a good sign and if care is not taken the (XDR-TB) might break into an epidemic.

Speaking at a media launch of World TB day in Accra, Dr. Bonsu, called for concerted efforts from leaders to fight the XDR-TB and make Ghana a TB free country.
