Policy makers urged to promote protection of right of women & children Stakeholders in the promotion of the rights of women and children are calling on policy makers to put in place measures that will enhance the protection of the rights of women and children in the country. A former Minister of Women, Gender and Social Protection Mrs. Juliana Azuma Mensah, says the protection of the rights of children should not be left to women parliamentarians. Speaking to journalists as part of activities to mark the International Women's Day in Accra, Mrs Azuma Mensah was not happy that some parents sell off their children for money. The National Coordinator of the International Cocoa Initiative, Mike Arthur, said his outfit will engage women in cocoa growing areas in some income generating activities that will empower them on decision making issues.
