Handling of traders around President Akufo-Addo’s home ‘reckless’ - IDEG Boss The Executive Director of the Institute of Democratic Governance (IDEG), Emmanuel Akwetey, has criticised government’s handling of the eviction of traders around President Akufo-Addo’s Nima residence, describing it as reckless and careless. He said the compensation handed out to the affected persons is not adequate after National Security gave them one week to pack out of the area. He acknowledges there are legitimate security considerations that went into this move but that, he said should not be at the expense of poor vulnerable people. He explains that the situation “causing distress” in the name of the President, should have been handled better, with government explaining in detail the valuation and the compensation package' SOURCE: CITI ---DECRYPTED---
