Politician, Diplomat And Writer K.B Asante Laid To Rest 

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumiah today (March 10), joined family and sympathizers at the burial service for the late Educationist, Diplomat and Politician, Kwaku Baprui Asante at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra. 

In a sermon, the Dean of the Anglican Most Holy Trinity Cathedral in Accra, Very Reverend Seth Sackey challenged Ghanaians to emulate both the social and religious aspects of the late K.B. Asante's life. 

He said life that is pleasing to God does not only impact positively on others, but also earns heaven.   

Aside the Vice President, the Late K.B. Asante's burial service in Accra was graced by astitute Politicians such as Former President, Jerry John Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Former flagbearer of the CPP, Dr. Abu Sakara, Former Minister of Finance Seth Terkper, Ministers of State, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Ga Adagme Council, Lodge Grand Master Ghana among other sympathisers. 

The Dean of the Anglican Holy Trinity Cathedral, Very Reverend Seth Sackey said a good relation between God and mankind must be seen as one's main duty on earth. 

He described the Late K.B. Asante as a man with excellent character hence the need to emulate his deeds.

In her tribute, wife of the late KB Asante, Mrs. Matilda Asante described her husband as God-given, adding that she will forever remember their times together.

The First son, Sabra Asante also shared some memories of his late father.

The Late K.B. Asante was given a private burial in Accra.  

He was 93 and survived by his wife and five children

INDIVIDUALS SHARE EXPERIENCES WITH THE LATE K.B. ASANTE 

Some individuals who had personal contacts and experiences with the Late K.B. Asante went down memory lane with GBC’s Radio Ghana. 

First is Former Minister of finance Seth Terpe. He described K.B. Asante as epitome of good service. He added that, his life elicits the fact that some civil servants can work with high sense of ethical principles.

On his part, the Former Flagbearer of the CPP, Dr. Abu Sakara said the Late K.B. Asante painstakingly developed himself to attain his feat while on earth. He therefore urged the youth not to take perilous hasty decisions in life but patiently prepare themselves for their future responsibilities.

The Secretary General of the Pan African Writers' Association, Professor Atukwei Okai saw the Late K.B. Asante as a man who respected his responsibility to the state. Adding that, his death calls for a true reflection on his mission to humanity.

K.B ASANTE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE FORMATION OG GADANGME COUNCIL

Asante while on earth was instrumental in the formation of the Gadangme Council which has over the years mediated and resolved a number of conflicts among some Ga factions. 

At his burial Service in Accra, the Council's Acting President, Amatei Akuete lauded K.B Asante for his role in the promotion of the Ga language and efforts towards the reclamation of some Ga lands to its rightful owners.

Mr. Akuete urged the Ga youth to join the Council in the pursuit of its goals and learn from its aging members to ensure continuity.
