Africa's only female president set to quit President of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, is set to resign after next week's Independence Day celebrations on March 12. The move is possibly to evade her impeachment by the government. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth. Mr Jugnauth said they had arrived at a compromise, but did not reveal a date. He said it would be before Parliament resumes sitting on the 27th of this month (March 2018). He noted that the interest of the country comes first, adding that he is proud of Mauritius' image as a model of living democracy in the world. SOURCE: BBC NEWS ---DECRYPTED---
