President Akufo-Addo Urges Commercial Banks To Reduce Lending Rates To Give Impetus To Private Sector

President Akufo-Addo has appealed to Commercial Banks to reduce lending rates to reflect the current policy rate which has been consistently reduced by the Bank of Ghana.  

He said the private sector needs capital to expand its operations, however, the current interest rate charged by banks is hampering access to finance.

President Akufo-Addo made this remark when he commissioned a state of the art edifice of Ecobank Ghana in Accra. 

He said the financial sector has a role to play as government strives to put in place policies that will transform the economy.
