8th March, 2018 The Daily Graphic is worried that government spent hard currency to procure linear accelerated machines for the treatment of cancer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital only for it to lie idle for some parts to get missing. The paper notes that very important lifesaving machines, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have been left to rot. It says these infractions are widespread and impinge negatively on health system delivery and human development indices. The paper therefore calls on the Ministry of Health and all players in the health sector to chart a serious road map towards attaining a well-functioning healthcare delivery. The Ghanaian Times discusses measures to coordinate security operations across the country following the burning down of 14 tipper trucks and an excavator in the Kumbungu District of the Northern Region alleged to have been carried out by the Operation Vanguard. The paper believes inter-agency coordination is good for work ethics and does not allow for any one agency to flex its muscles against the powerless. The Times therefore calls on the Operation Vanguard team to work with the Regional Security Council in the Northern Region to avoid possible security breaches and disturbances.
