Child Rights Activist calls for special awards scheme for women cocoa farmers

The Chief Executive of Child's Right International Bright Appiah, is calling on the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Gender, Women and Social Protection to institute an awards scheme for women in cocoa production. 

The call comes in the wake of International Women's Day tomorrow. 

Mr. Appiah said a research conducted by his outfit revealed that women in cocoa growing areas often perform dual roles; hence they need more recognition from government.
