25 factories to be built under phase-one of 1D1F in Eastern Region Twenty-five (25) factories are going to be established under the phase-one of the one-district one-factory (1D1F) policy implementation in the Eastern Region. The Regional Director of the Trade and Industry Ministry, Doris Asetena-Mensah, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua, that construction works will start, this year. These factories will mainly be into agro-processing, recycling, quarry and poultry and source their raw materials locally. She said so far 25 companies had had their projects approved and were going to receive funding from financial institutions backing the implementation of the policy. She will not speculate on when the factories will be ready except to say that district implementation committees has been established in all the 26 districts. The committees’ job is to facilitate the smooth implementation of the approved projects.
