PURC reduces utility tariffs, effective 15th March

The PURC, after extensive stakeholder consultation has approved tariff reduction for various categories of customers effective the 15th of this month.

In a statement the Commission says it received tariff proposals from ECG, Gridco, GWCL, and other utility providers and analyzed the proposals in line with section 17 of the Commission's Act. 

The approved reduction is as follows: Residential customers’ 17 point five percent, non residential 30 percent, special load tariff customers 25 percent and mines 10 percent. It said the Tariff structure remains the same and will be reviewed in 2019.
