Ashanti Region: Poor infrastructure grinding education  to a halt at Yaw Safo community
 
The lack of infrastructure is affecting teaching and learning at the only basic school at Yaw Safo, a community in the Asante AKyem South District of the Ashanti Region.

The Yaw Sarfo D.A.School, constructed about twenty years ago, has not seen any renovation. 

The mud buildings which serve as classrooms were constructed with the financial contribution of community members in their bid to provide a basic school for their children.

The school with a population of about 200 pupils is fast shrinking due to the lack of infrastructure coupled with bad roads leading to the school.
 
Stakeholders have expressed worry at the situation as teachers posted there are reluctant to teach. 

They are therefore calling on authorities to come to their aid.
