Government Institutes Package For Police Officers Who Die, Get Injured In Line Of Duty Government has instituted a package for Police Officers who die or get injured in the line of duty. All outstanding compensation from 2002 for Police Officers will also be paid. Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia announced this when he joined mourners to bid farewell to the late Chief Inspector of Police, Emmanuel Kwaku Ashilevi who died in the hands of gunmen whiles on duty at the Kwabenya Police station. More than GH¢185,000 has been released for the wife and children of the bereaved, making the late officer the first recipient of the package. Meanwhile, the remains of the late Chief Inspector of Police, Emmanuel Kwaku Asilevi who was shot by gunmen at the Kwabenya Police Station has been laid to rest. The funeral of the late officer was attended by the rank and file of the Police Service led by the Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu. In a sermon, the President of the Apostolic Church Ghana, Apostle Peter Oko Mankralo attributed the lawlessness in the country to moral decadence.
