The Daily Graphic calls for constant and intrusive police presence as well as retooling of the service to enable it to overcome the current sophisticated trends in crime. According to the paper, over 20 Forex Bureaus have so far been attacked by armed robbers in Accra and Tema alone, with 16 more robbery cases recorded in Oyibi, resulting in two deaths. The Graphic is of the view that prison terms for convicted armed robbers should be very punitive to serve as deterrent to others.

The Ghanaian Times discusses the significance of the 28th February Christiansborg Crossroads Shooting incident. Three Ghanaian veterans of the Second World War, Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey were gunned down by a British soldier while protesting against the refusal of the then colonial administration’s to compensate them for participating in the war as promised. As Ghana prepares to celebrate independence and Remembrance Day, the paper calls on all to use the lessons learnt from the past to be a guide into the future by resisting corruption. This, the Times, says will help free up resources for Ghana's development agenda. 

The Daily Heritage is worried about how students are trained only to pass exams at the expense of total education. This leads to the churning out of graduates who are only good at answering questions but unfit for the job market. The Heritage is sad at how the quest to maximise profit has led to the mass recruitment of teachers who are masters of teaching students how to answer past questions. Some teachers are believed to tutor students from prepared question and answer books, neglecting the GES approved textbooks. The paper believes this lazy approach by teachers produces half-baked students who are limited in both knowledge and skills.
