In an interview with GNA Sports Mr. Asiamah noted that the project which would be completed in 16 months is part of the massive transformation of the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex and a way of securing the future of our young ones through sports development.

“The sporting facility has been left unattended to for over 20 years and this government has seen the need to use sports as a tool for job creation and also to curtail social vices.

“The project when completed would be a multi-purpose youth center and would be named the Azumah Nelson Youth and Sports Center.

“So many people have benefited through sports and it is our aim to help transform the youth development through sports”.

Mr. Azumah Nelson expressed his happiness over the project, after years dilapidation sports adding that such a massive facelift would befit Ghana, when completed.

“I am so happy, because it is going to help the youth to develop and refrain from bad habits”.

The former world featherweight champion and Super featherweight boxing champion used the occasion to urge Ghanaians to adopt a maintenance culture that would keep our facilities well.
