Power supply to consumers in parts of the country interrupted

The Electricity Company of Ghana says due to some challenges encountered by the Ghana Grid Company Limited on its transmission network, there is going to be interruption in power supply to consumers in some parts of the country.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Public Relations Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana William Boateng said, the ECG hopes interruption in power supply will be short.  He said the ECG is yet to get detail information as to which parts of the country are to be affected. 

On the Public Utility Regulatory Commission directive to the ECG to compensate about 41 thousand prepaid consumers who were affected by the interruption of prepaid credit for their metres, Mr. Boateng said, the ECG will comply with the directive though it has some reservations.
