FDA to crack down on outdoor advertisement of alcoholic beverages The Food and Drugs Authority says it has received 90 percent compliance with regards to the time of advertisement of alcoholic beverages. Director of Communication at the Food and Drugs Authority, James Lartey, said some media houses which flouted the directive have been served with caution letters while some have also been given administrative fines. Mr. Lartey said the next stage of the enforcement will be on outdoor advertisement of alcoholic beverages. He said per the law, billboards displaying alcoholic beverages should be two hundred metres away from a school or children play grounds,but this regulation has been flouted with impunity.
