New High Commissioner to Malaysia tasked to develop Ghana's Oil Palm industry President Akufo-Addo has charged Ghana's High Commissioner to Malaysia Akua Sakyiwa Ahenkorah, to do all within her power to develop its Oil Palm industry just as Malaysia has done. The President said this at a brief swearing in ceremony for Madam Ahenkorah at the Flagstaff House. President Akufo Addo urged the High Commissioner to attract Malaysian expertise to Ghana’s oil palm industry Relations between Ghana and Malaysia date back to the 1950s with a historic story of Malaysia receiving its first oil palm nut from Ghana. The two countries attained independence in the same year. Today Malaysia is the number one producer of palm oil in the world. President Akufo-Addo said Ghana can derive enormous benefits from the commercial production of oil palm, which can also help boost the economy. He urged the new High Commissioner to use her expertise to bring development into Ghana's oil palm sector. Madam Akua Sakyiwa Ahenkorah, assured the President of her loyalty and promised to work hard during her duty tour. She pledged to woo investors into the country's oil palm sector.
