Clergy man warns Ghanaians over democratic success complacency A Clergyman has called on Ghanaian politicians not to be complacent of the 25 years success in the Democratic governance but help fight the social canker impeding the development of the country. These include idleness, apathy, robbery as well as bribery and corruption. The Superintendent Minister of Effiduase Methodist Circuit, Very Rev Joseph Galley, who made the call, pointed out that Ghana would have risen to a higher level of development than its present status if all had shun selfish gains and prioritized the national interest first. Very Rev. Galley who was delivering his covenant message in an interview with a Radio Ghana correspondent in Koforidua, asked Ghanaians to use the silver jubilee of the country's change over from revolution to constitutional rule to iron out their differences and work harmoniously for the development of Ghana. He advised the leaders in authority to do away with tribalism, favouritism and nepotism which at times make them put round pegs in square holes instead of appointing the qualified and competent personnel to occupy certain positions to deliver quality service. Very Rev. Galley commended government for its fight against the galamsey menace as well as the implementation of the free SHS policy and the restoration of nurses and teacher trainees allowances. He however, suggested to government to try as much as possible to address the teething problems in some of its policies to enhance its sustainability. Very Rev. Galley urged Christians to use the covenant to turn over a new leaf and lead an upright life as true followers of Christ but not only to be seen as Church goers. He appealed to each citizen not to sit on the fence but use his or her diverse expertise to contribute to the development of the country. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
