Special Prosecutor: Governance, Anti-Corruption experts call for transparency and broad consultations The Director of the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Rasheed Draman, has commended President Akufo-Addo for assenting to the Special Prosecutor Bill. He said what is left now is for broad consultation with all stakeholders especially the Minority in parliament to reach a consensus on who should occupy the office of the Special Prosecutor. Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Progamme, "FOCUS," Dr Draman said for the Special Prosecutor to be accepted by all, the two parties that have had the opportunity to govern should halt the dismissal of public officers who have security of tenure when there is a change of government. The Programme Manager at the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Mary Awelana Adda, called for transparency in the appointment process. A Governance Expert, Prof. Baffour Agyemang Duah called for broad consultations in the appointment adding that the tenure of the Special Prosecutor must transcend governments.
