UPP Executives In B/A Endorse Mahama As we draw closer to Wednesday December 7, General Election Day, Political Parties which were disqualified by the EC from participating in the elections have started endorsing the two major parties, New Patriotic Party, (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress, (NDC). The flag bearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike, recently endorsed the Presidential candidate for the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. An act which brought him chastisement from the Brong Ahafo Regional Executives and members of the UPP. Speaking at Press Conference called by the Bono Ahafo Executives in Sunyani, the Communications Officer of UPP, Lawrence Asare, said, their Flagbearer, Odike is an autocratic leader who decided to declare the party's support for the NPP without the consent of both the National and the Regional Executives. Mr. Asare said the Executives and members in Brong Ahafo have reached a consensus to throw their support behind the ruling NDC and President John Dramani Mahama to continue with the good work for the country. The Brong Ahafo Chairman of the UPP, Atta Poku, explained further saying after noting the impressive performance of President Mahama these last four years, they have no qualms about declaring him the best since the advent of the Fourth Republic. Mr. Adu said they believe Ghana will be better off if John Dramani Mahama is given a second chance to continue on the path of transforming Ghana into a paradise, hence their decision to endorse him.
