APC`s Hassan Ayariga Declares Support For President Mahama Ahead December Polls The disqualified Presidential Candidate of All People's Congress, (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has declared his support for President John Dramani Mahama's second term bid as president of Ghana in the December polls. According to Mr. Ayariga, who is the founder of APC, “his party deems it appropriate to endorse President Mahama because of his tried and tested leadership over the period that he has been President.” He made the declaration at a news conference in Accra. “There is one candidate who has extraordinary traits of leadership and character much to the extraordinary demands of this moment in history,” Ayariga said of Mahama at a press conference. He described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer as a listening leader and calm hence the suitable person to lead the nation. “No matter how people try to knock him down, he never quits. That is the man I know so well. His actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more,” Ayariga said. He also used the event to name a new General Secretary and a National Youth Organiser. Ahead of the endorsement, there was confusion in the camp of the APC as Ayariga’s executives gave their support to opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo. While the founder – Ayariga – preferred the NDC’s candidate, some top executives of the party tipped Nana Akufo-Addo. GBC
