Elections 2016: EC Creates Walk-In Service For Parties And Candidates The Electoral Commission of Ghana says it has created a Special Walk-in Service for political parties and independent candidates taking part in this year’s elections. The Service which is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm would allow party representatives and independent candidates the opportunity to meet Members and key officers of the Commission (without prior appointment) to get their questions about the elections answered or concerns addressed. A statement issued in Accra and signed by the Commission’s Head of Communications, Eric Kofi Dzakpasu said the Walk-In Service will take place at the same time simultaneously in all Regional and District Offices of the Commission across the country. According to the statement, “The Walk-in Service”, the first of its kind, is in line with the Commission’s determination to increase its engagement with the key stakeholders of the electoral process. It said it will complement other initiatives being implemented by the Commission to increase access and transparency of the electoral process. The Commission expects all parties and independent candidates will make good use of this unique opportunity. GBC
