19th November, 2016 The Daily Graphic urges journalists to pledge to uphold ethical principles ahead of the December polls. The paper calls on the media, especially social media users to refrain from peddling falsehood on media platforms. The paper shares in the view of the EC boss Mrs Charlotte Osei when she criticised faceless individuals who use social media as platform to achieve their parochial interests. It urges journalists and all to be committed to ensure a peaceful election next month. The Ghanaian Times welcomes the visa ban threat by US and the UK if leading politicians are found engineering political violence in the country. According to the paper, this threat is also regrettable because Ghana has an enviable electioneering record which is unmatched in West Africa. The paper says, previous elections have witnessed political upheavals and this year`s election is not different. Such situations in one way or the other impact negatively on the country`s democracy and erode it`s socio-economic and political gains. In light of these, the visa ban threat is timely so as to ensure peaceful polls and politicians who are inciting violence rethink their actions. GBC
