Government, AfDB sign $94 million agreement to construct Pokuasi Interchange Government and the African Development Bank, have signed a 94 million dollar agreement for the construction of the Accra Urban Transport Project, also known as the Pokuase Interchange Project. The 10 kilometre project is a continuation of the Awoshie -Pokuase road. When completed, it will reduce congestion and improve traffic flow and ensure pedestrian safety. The Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper said government will absorb 11 million dollars out of the amount. The President's Representative of the AfDB, Marie Laure Akin Olugbade, in a remark pledged the bank's commitment to support government to develop its infrastructural projects. She also lauded government's decision to create other facilities such as markets as part of the project for the benefit of the surrounding communities. GBC
