16th November, 2016 The Daily Graphic writes on the part two of what is your pledge towards peaceful elections? The paper says as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful outcome, it has begun a series of editorials aimed at encouraging all Ghanaians to show and pledge by deeds and actions their commitment to peaceful elections. The Daily Graphic reiterated that nothing less than peace is expected of the country in the period leading up to the elections and after. The paper advises that in promoting violence-free elections, we all need to seek peace instead of war and charges all stakeholders to make a commitment to uphold free and fair polls and also accept the outcome even if they are the losers. The Ghanaian Times is imploring institutions responsible for labour issues in Ghana to protect casual workers against exploitation and enforce stringent measures to check institutions and employers who violate the Labour Act. The paper says some employees have permanently failed to employ persons who have served beyond the six months which is in clear violation of the Laws of the Land. The paper is therefore urging the National Labour Commission as well as the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, to enforce the laws the compel employees to employ casual workers who have worked for six months and more.
