UPDATES: GBC & STAR Ghana Presidential Encounter With JOY

The Independent Candidate in the December election, Jacob Osei-Yeboah in One-on-One with GBC’s Abdul Hayi Moomen and Selikem Acolatse Apaloo said he doesn't believe in the ideologies of both NPP and NDC..

He is of the opinion that those parties are confused in their ideologies that are outmoded…

JOY alleged that the two parties lie about him, telling electorates that a vote for him is a wasted vote. 
Policy for Women:

He said he will extend Maternity leave to enable nursing mothers to have time to bond with their children.

According to him, Ghana needs a policy to empower women also, he will set up special funds to cater for women and children as well as the youth. 

Speaking on plans for the blind, JOY said there is a challenge with sign language for the deaf in Ghana. 

He said when voted for, he will ensure that every institution must have a sign language interpreter for accessibility. 

“Very Important to address their needs as well for inclusive development.” He said

On Agriculture, he has advocated the collaboration with chiefs for use of tractors for mechanized agriculture to attract the youth. 

He indicated that irrigation through the construction of wells would be used to take care of the erratic rainfall pattern. 
He mentioned cassava as one of the crops to receive his attention. 

This would be done with direct participation of chiefs who are fathers of the communities. 

He is optimistic the approach would increase youth involvement in agriculture
