7th November, 2016 The Daily Graphic is concerned about the indiscriminate use of land in the country which has far reaching consequences for the Agric sector. According to the paper, the agricultural sector is affected the most by the improper demarcation of lands. It says with arable lands falling in the hands of estate developers, the repercussions it will have on the country in due course will be huge, if the trend is allowed to continue. The Graphic however says that it is not against the development of housing for rent or sale but rather believes there should be proper use of land. The Ghanaian Times expresses concern about the many court cases against the Electoral Commission [EC] on the disqualification of political party presidential nominees. This, the paper says, is creating a lot of anxiety as many fear that the country may be bogged down with suits that could derail the electoral process and affect the plans of the Electoral Commission towards the December polls. The paper says it believes the EC when it says it would hold the elections on December 7 but does not believe the EC can be done with the numerous lawsuits against it. It adds that at least all court cases must be over to pave the way for the elections and the sooner that is done, the better. GBC
