Elections 2016: CPP gov’t to invest in wind energy if elected

The Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party, (CPP) Ivor Kobina Greenstreet says Ghana under his leadership is going invest in wind energy programme wherever feasible to produce wind power to feed industries.  

He said the CPP government will also revamp and retool the Tema oil refinery to meet international standards.  

Addressing a rally at Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region on the first day of his three day campaign tour of the region, Mr. Greenstreet said the current NDC government and the NPP administration have all failed to add up to the country's energy mix hence the challenge that the country is facing in the energy sector. 

He urged the electorate not to buy into the lies and vain propaganda by the NDC and NPP and vote for the CPP. 

Radio Ghana’s Felix Cofie reports that, Mr. Greenstreet's convoy was met by hundreds of motor riders at Kpone and led him to the rally grounds. 

While some struggled to catch a glimpse of him others also were clamoring for the CPP T-shirt giving the police officer a hectic time. 

Mr. Greenstreet said if successive governments have had the vision that Dr. Nkrumah had Ghana will not be struggling to solve the challenges that has bedeviled the country now. 

He urged the electorate to make good use of the opportunity they have now by voting the CPP to bring the transformation they so badly needed. 

The CPP parliamentary candidate for Asuogyaman constituency Eva Nana Ama Andorful who is also living with disability said the so called two major parties for the past 24 years have done for the people of the Asuogyaman constituency. 

She said her disability is not inability and urged the electorate to vote for her to bring the desired change that they want.

In another development, the National Chairman and Leader of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Prof. Edmund N. Delle, and 3rd National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Tidjani, continue door-to-door campaign tour of the Upper West Region.

Prof. Delle and his team hit Nandom last Wednesday with the key message, “Osagyefo gave us political independence and freedom and the CPP’s Presidential Candidate, Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, and his running mate, Nana Gabby Nketia, will top that up with economic independence and freedom.”

According to Prof. Delle, the CPP is the only credible choice in this year’s election, and contended that Mr. Greenstreet is the man to enter the Flagstaff House next to manage prudently the affairs of the country.

At the Nandom Naa’s Palace, Prof. Delle paid homage and took the opportunity to brief the Nandom Naa and his sub-chiefs on the CPP’s campaign message of “Apam Fofro”, literally meaning ‘New covenant.

Prof. Delle, who spent the entire day at Nandom with his campaign team, started his campaign tour last Tuesday whilst on his way to receive an award.

The Planning Committee of the National Youth Authority, under the auspices of the Regional Secretariat in Wa, on November 1, 2016, conferred an award on the chairman and leader of the CPP at the Wa Regional Library Conference Hall.

It was on the theme, “Upper West Regional Youth Achievers 2016 Special Awards.”

Prof. Delle picked the award, which is one of many such local and international awards he has received over the years.

Prof. Delle was grateful to the organisers and pledged to do more to lift the region.
