PPP, NDP, PNC and APC to appear before court today on disqualification of presidential candidates The Progressive People's Party, PPP, National Democratic Party, NDP, the People's National Convention, PNC and the All People's Party, APC are today appearing before the courts on the disqualification of their Presidential candidates. In the case of the PPP the Supreme Court on Wednesday granted an abridgement of time in respect of the case brought against the Party by the Electoral Commission. The presiding Judge Gabriel Pwamang in granting the application ordered the interested parties to file their statements for it to be heard today. The EC is seeking to overturn an Accra High Court's ruling that Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum should be allowed to amend his nomination forms. In the case of the NDP, the Accra High Court presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Baffour ordered the disqualified flagbearer of the NDP, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and the Electoral Commission to file their written submissions by yesterday and return to the court today to give oral submissions. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is challenging her disqualification by the Electoral Commission and wants the court to quash that decision. Meanwhile, hearing of the suit also challenging the disqualification of Dr Edward Mahama as the presidential candidate of the PNC will also be be heard today. In the case of the APC the judge is expected to give a ruling on the disqualification of its Presidential candidate Hassan Ayariga. GBC
