Daily Graphic: National awards must inspire us for selfless service is how the Daily Graphic titles its editorial. The paper says instead of criticising the presentation of national awards to some distinguished personalities who have contributed to the development of the nation, there is the need to rather look at its importance and congratulate the award winners for their contribution to nation building. The paper believes that the awards should inspire the citizenry to give of their best. The Daily Graphic proposes that the selection process should be made more open. The paper says the awards should also include the unsung heroes who nonetheless have pressed on for several years to contribute to the development of the nation.  

The Ghanaian Times expresses joy at the passage of a new sports law that mandates the Ministry to receive and manage all funds including sponsorships. The paper thinks the resources, little as they may be have not been managed properly over the years. The Times says the law will ensure accountability, transparency and also bring the National teams directly under the Ministry. This, in the paper's view will bring an end to the tussle between the Ministry and Football authorities as to who is in charge of the national teams. The Times commends government and all stakeholders for the passage of the new law.
