Nigeria urges Emirates Airline not to cut flights

Nigeria has appealed to Emirates Airline not to stop flying from Dubai to the capital, Abuja, saying it is trying to deal with a currency crisis and fuel shortages that have hit the operations of a number of airline.

Last week, Emirates said it would suspend its four times a week service between Dubai and Abuja from October 30.

Nigeria's Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika said he had told an Emirates West African executive that the government is aware of the challenges facing the airlines and is working hard to resolve them.
